Alcohol, tobacco and unhealthy food are the three biggest killers in our society.

The industries behind these harmful products use shared strategies to influence and disrupt government policies designed to improve our health, fearing the impact on their revenue. They protect their business interests at the expense of our well-being.

Common tactics include downplaying the potential harms linked to their products, using legal threats, and offering gifts and hospitality to Members of Parliament to gain allies.

Our new report in partnership with the Obesity Health Alliance and Action on Smoking and Health includes examples of these 'killer tactics' and provides MPs with ways they can put our health first.

We call on MPs to:

  1. Avoid conflicts of interests and reject corporate hospitality from unhealthy product industries
  2. Stand up for your constituents’ health and call on the government to make interactions with unhealthy product industries more transparent
  3. Prepare to challenge common industry arguments that undermine public health

Send your MP our latest report and ask them to protect public health policymaking from industry interference.
